HEOLE

Heole develops organic photovoltaic (OPV) technologies in flexible and lightweight panels to generate clean energy anywhere: on sails, roofs, coverings, temporary structures. Founded in 2021 in Brittany by a team of entrepreneurs, engineers, and sailors, it shares the same vision with Flexon Composites: innovative materials for an energy-autonomous future.

Forget the rigid solar panels you know: Heole membranes are flexible, adapt to curved surfaces, weigh up to 30 times less than silicon panels. They are semi-transparent and bifacial: they capture energy from both sides, also exploiting reflected light. And they work even when the sky is overcast or the light is not direct.
Real tests have shown that in navigation conditions—where the panel is vertical, in motion, rarely optimally oriented—OPV panels produce up to 50% more energy than silicon. In some cases, they produce double.
The environmental impact? One tenth compared to silicon. Completely recyclable. And the energy spent to produce them is recovered in a few weeks, not years.

When flexible composite materials meet organic photovoltaics, something unique happens. Our MMS™ composites create the structure: flexible, resistant, lightweight, designed to last in extreme conditions. Heole's OPV membranes add energy: solar cells that integrate perfectly into flexible surfaces.
The result: a sail is no longer just a sail—it's also an energy generator. A roof is no longer just a covering—it produces electricity. An event canopy doesn't need grid connection. The possibilities are potentially unlimited.

The integration between MMS™ and Heole technology opens up scenarios and applications of all kinds, let's see some of the possibilities...
Marine: Solar sails that generate energy on board during navigation. Autonomy for electrical systems without diesel engines. Deck coverings that produce electricity. Boat tarps that become flexible solar panels.
Architecture and construction: Flexible photovoltaic roofs for buildings with structural constraints. Coverings for completely autonomous temporary structures. Canopies for events, fairs, installations that produce their own energy. Membranes for tensile structures that combine form and energy function.
Agrivoltaics: Greenhouses with semi-transparent coverings that produce energy without completely blocking light. Shelters for livestock or crops that generate electricity.
Transport and logistics: Airships with photovoltaic envelopes for autonomous electric propulsion. Balloons for lighting powered by their own surface. Truck tarps that recharge batteries during transport.
Off-grid and isolation: Tents for camps or self-sufficient base camps. Field hospitals with autonomous energy. Installations in remote areas without access to the electrical grid.

Materials that adapt, that last, that produce clean energy. The synergy works because both technologies are born with the same values: flexibility without compromises on performance, extreme lightness, total sustainability. Together we are building the energy autonomy of the future.
